Description:
- The Royer Labs Sling-Shock (Patent No. 8,571,250) is a revolutionary departure from traditional shock mount designs. By eliminating rubberized parts and elastic cords, Royer has created a durable, long-lasting shock mount that delivers superior isolation from unwanted vibrations. Hand-built in Royers Burbank, California facility, the Sling-Shock features a proprietary suspension system using non-resonant nylon cable and damped steel springs to isolate the microphone from vibrations transmitted through the mic stand, which can otherwise cause rumble, low-frequency noise, or harmonic disturbances across the bandwidth. The Sling-Shocks excellent vibration-reduction performance and lack of self-resonance allow engineers to capture clean, detailed recordings free of vibration-related interference. The RSM-SS1 model is sized to fit Royer 1-inch diameter ribbon microphones including the R-121, R-122, R-122V, SF-1, and SF-12, and is also compatible with most cylindrical microphones measuring approximately 1 inch in diameter ( 1/8″), while the RSM-SS24 model accommodates SF-2, SF-24, and SF-24V microphones; a European stand adapter is included where applicable for compatibility with European-spec microphone stands.
Features:
- Superior isolation from vibration and shocks
- Felt-lined, scratch-free microphone chamber holds mic securely
- No rubberized parts to degrade or stretch
- Flexible for easy microphone positioning
